SOME CARE TIPS FOR YOUR CUT TREE
First things first - get the netting off your tree and get it stood up, even if you are not intending to bring it inside or decorate it for a while. Netting is only used to enable easy transport, and trees left in their netting will start to turn brown.
Cut Christmas trees are like cut flowers - they need water to stop them drying out and to keep them looking fresh for the whole Christmas period. We'd recommend using a watering stand and giving your tree approx a pint of water per day.
We will cut around half an inch from the bottom of your tree before we deliver it to you. This helps the tree to absorb water and will help to keep it fresh for longer. However, the sap will form a seal again if it is not put into water within a few hours of being sawn. If you have not put your tree into water within this time, you will need to saw another half inch or so off the bottom to help it absorb water.
Please remember Christmas trees do not like the heat. If you place your tree next to a radiator or fire, it is likely to dry out much quicker than if it's kept cool.
All our trees are premium quality and we do our very best to check the health of all the trees before they're delivered to you. However, they are all unique, and very occasionally a tree may struggle once it is brought inside. If you have any issues with your tree, please call us straight away and we'll replace it for you, so long as you've taken sufficient care to look after it.

FEELING HOT, HOT, HOT!
No Christmas tree likes the heat, and that is especially so for the living rental trees. Keep away from the radiator and other heat sources at all times. Please remember - they cannot survive inside for more than 3.5 weeks max.
YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LIKES A DRINK AT CHRISTMAS...
These trees must be watered to ensure their health and survival. If you're going away for Christmas, a rental tree is not for you, as you won't be able to take care of it sufficiently. Each tree requires a different amount of water - on average this is half a pint to a pint per day. The rule of thumb is to ensure there is always a small amount in the saucer at all times. If there's still water in the saucer from the day before, you don't need to give it any more. You don't want your tree to be sitting in stagnant water for days as it will start to smell.
DON'T PANIC!
Do not panic if your rental tree drops a small number of needles - this will be caused by the shock of being brought inside (or they may have been dislodged during de-netting or decorating), but it should be able to cope with this for a few weeks. Please DO NOT cut any bits off your rental tree. They had a haircut in the Summer so they would be ready for the festive season - pruning them now could cause distress. Your tree may even have a few brown needles - this is ok. It is only time to panic if the needles are all turning brown or huge numbers are falling off.
